Great to hear Doc. It's a great insulation layer. I'm almost always in merino wool as a baselayer. I like Icebreaker and Smartwool but there are many good brands now. For a shell I'm skiing in a Mammut Gore-Tex and for lightweight hiking a Beyond Clothing Yuba Pertex.
